Library Assistant II
SUMMARY AND REQUIREMENTS: The Canby Public Library is looking for a candidate with technology instruction skills, knowledge of collection development best practices and experience working with and providing services to teens. Duties include ordering, processing and management of DVD, CD and Periodicals collections. Processing and management of Young Adult collection. Designing and implementing teen events and services, processing of interlibrary loan requests, designing and teaching a variety of computer classes, and providing e-reader/e-book consultations. Position is part time - 25 hours a week Tuesday through Saturday. Must be able to communicate effectively and efficiently, orally and in writing. Equivalent to high school education and three to five years of general office or library experience, or any satisfactory combination of experience and training which demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the above duties. Must demonstrate ability to alphabetize and understand the Dewey Classification System. (Refer to full Job Description for additional information and requirements.)
